Life in Military with Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS)

So I strongly believed that the military contributed to the onset of my condition.  I served in the army and anyone serving know the high demands the military place on your body and on your legs.

when i first started experiencing the pain I was always told you have "shin splint" by my squad leader and if you run with your company your ability group leader.  I was  always in the 4-6 min mile ability group.  But you know you never just run a mile in the Army.

So I had all these "Non" medical or "Non MD" telling me it just shin splint.  and given the party line rest "suck it up and drive on"

I never experience "Shin Splint' so I had no idea of what it was.  However my first eposide I was like "what the hell it this" I was almost in tears.  One of my NCO knowing how I run and my abililty came over and stretch out my leg.  Of course the of time it got worse.

I was station at campbell and if you ever been there you know about all the road marches ( 4/12) and the standard for air assault school .

I think these really started taking a tool on the leg.  The heavy boot and the ruck sack.  i remember all those road march powering through the leg burning.  limping across the finish line and rarely because of blister.  I had plenty of insole and mole skin.  I had some tender spot but no blister.

So I eventually started going to sick call because it was becoming again getting a dx of shin splints.  with life in the military i eventually go switch to a new pa that referred me to Orthopedic.

This started a new process of treatment.  So again with started off with the Shin Sli
